USS ENTEMEDOR (SS-340) arrived in Pearl Harbor on 29 June 1945 enroute to Midway Island for advanced training and preparation for War Patrol. She put to sea for her only war patrol on 24 July 1945. When hostilities ceased she was ordered to Saipan where she arrived on 17 August 1945.

ENTEMEDOR returned to Seattle, Washington 22 September 1945. She participated in various fleet exercises in the Eastern Pacific while operating from San Diego. In 1946 and 1947 she made extended deployments to the Far East operating out of Subic Bay in the Philippines.

ENTEMEDOR was decommissioned at Mare Island Naval Shipyard on 10 December 1948.

Recommissioned on 24 October 1950, ENTEMEDOR operated off the coast of California for the remainder of that year. On 2 January 1951 she sailed for New London, Connecticut and for the rest of that year she operated in the Western Atlantic. On 31 January 1952 she entered Electric Boat Company for conversion to a GUPPY IIA class submarine. She was returned to active status on 17 October 1952 and assigned to SubRon2, SubDiv101 homeported in New London.

During her overhaul at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in March 1954 she received extensive electronics and machinery alterations as well as a new fiberglass "Sail" which changed her outward appearance for the first time since 1952.

In July 1967, ENTEMEDOR was transferred to SubRon2, SubDiv22 homeported in Groton, Connecticut and engaged in various exercises and operations in the Western Atlantic. Annually from 1968 to 1971, ENTEMEDOR participated in "Operation Springboard" in the Caribbean. In the spring of 1971, ENTEMEDOR participated in two NATO exercises off hte western coast of the United Kingdom and made a port visit at Plymouth, England.

ENTEMEDOR was decommissioned on 31 July 1972 and loaned to Turkey. She was returned on 1 August 1973, struck from the Navy List and sold to Turkey where she served as Preveze (S-345) until 1987.
