Dear Dad,
You have lived quite a life, and I must thank you for the book you gave me of stories from that life. I'm sure
as you finished up writing it, you realized how important a family artifact you had created. Generations will read
it.
I keep a journal of my thoughts and actions, so that at a later date I can look back and remember. But I also realize
that potentially my offspring and their offspring may get to know the long-dead Mark Stinson by reading those journals.
I have finished six of them, and I am 50 pages into my seventh.
I got you this book so that every once in awhile you could sit and write a piece of yourself in here. An old story,
an odd joke, a firmly held opinion, a bit of wisdom or advice, or just some thoughts going through your head at
the time. No journal expects you to write faithfully...only occasionally!
So write and record and realize how important you are to our family...be generous with your thoughts and knowledge.
Love, your son,
Mark L. Stinson
